Family of Faith (K-7)

“Family catechesis…precedes, accompanies and enriches all other forms of catechesis. Thus there cannot be too great an effort on the part of Christian parents to prepare for this ministry of being their own children’s catechists and to carry it out with zeal.” Pope St. John Paul II, Catechesi Tradendae

The vision for A Family of Faith is strong Catholic families in which children learn the joys of following Jesus Christ and the truths of their Faith through the witness of Christian life given by their parents.

A Family of Faith consists of 1 parent meeting each month and 1 large group gathering of parents and children each month from September through May. The family learns together as they complete two lessons at home each month. Everything is laid out in easy to follow parent guide book and children activity book.

Each month at the parent meeting, the DRE will help parents understand that month’e lessons and offer some best ways to present the material at home.

In a world where it seems as if everyone is getting busier and busier, A Family of Faith allows the family to work at their own pace in growing in faith. The family can complete lessons before bed, on a Saturday or Sunday morning, on a snow day, in the car, in whatever way works best for your family.

The once a month large group gatherings on Sunday allow for all the families of a particular parish to worship together at Mass and then come together to review that month’s lessons and build community.

The program runs September through May!
